Gallus – Innovation Days with world premiere with video

(Left to right): Klaus Bachstein, CEO of the Gallus Group, Ferdinand Rüesch, anchor investor of Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG and Vice President of the board of directors of the Gallus Group and Stephan Plenz, Management Board Member of Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG and Head of the Heidelberg Equipment Division start up the new label printing system Gallus Labelmaster.

SWITZERLAND • The second Innovation Days event will be held from 20 to 22 September this year, again at the company headquarters in St. Gallen, and visitors will once again be treated to a world premiere. Gallus will be presenting the first pre-series model of the Labelmaster, a conventional label printing machine, equipped with flexo-printing units, that is designed for the label and packaging market. According to the company the first series machines will offer a web width of 440 mm (17”) and first deliveries are scheduled for the second quarter of 2017.

This modular designed machine can be configured by customers to meet their own market requirements, whether in terms of the level of automation or the web width. The modular platform principle makes it possible to configure everything from basic models to fully equipped versions with varying degrees of automation according to requirements and business model.

With its maximum speed of 200 m/min (656 fpm) and very short setup times, these printing presses are the fastest narrow-web machines that Gallus has ever built. The engineers paid particular attention to achieving maximum productivity, using many features such as precise register accuracy regardless of speed, extremely straightforward operation even at low levels of automation, very short web path from printing unit to printing unit, and exceptionally easy changeovers. The lightweight aluminium printing cylinders that have been specially developed for this machine type can be changed in just a few quick steps, thus ensuring that job changes can be completed at very high speed.

A full report on the event will be published in issued 4 of NarrowWebTech, which will be published on 7th of November.
