Embe press: A country-first

POLAND. The Lublin-based printing house has recently become the first Polish user of an Omet XFlex X4 370 narrow-web flexo press. It was the company’s third Omet press and the second one delivered and installed by Ferag Polska – the sole distributor of Omet in Poland.

Embe Press Sp. j. was established by its current co-owners – Slawomir Bezdek and Marian Mamczarz – more than 20 years ago. From the beginning it has been using two printing techniques – offset and flexo, however it is the second one which brings Embe Press approx. 95% of its turnover.

The company’s equipment park consists of five presses, including three Omet machines. This latest investment was due to the growing number of orders for packaging printing, mainly from the food industry. The press, delivered to Lublin in July, is a slightly smaller model than the two other Omet presses previously installed.

The XFlex X4 370 is a new solution, devoted to printing and converting flexible media (incl. BOPP, PET, PVC and OPS) up to 12 microns thick, standard self-adhesive papers and lowweight cardboards. XFlex X4 370, printing on webs up to 370 mm (14.5”) width with maximum speed of 190 m/min (624 fpm), is equipped with several automatic production processes, including a precise web tension and register control system.

The press offers dual servo drives on every printing unit and AVS Vision-1, the automatic, intelligent matching system for longitudinal and cross registers. The press is compatible with waterbased and UV inks and offers hot air drying, UV curing or combination of both. Malgorzata Iwinska, Sales Manager for Omet at Ferag Polska, says: »We are extremely glad that the owners of Embe Press have once again decided to buy an Omet printing solution.«
