Sentinel Capital Partners Acquires RotoMetrics

RotoMetrics world headquarters at Eureka, MO/USA

USA • The private equity firm announced its acquisition of RotoMetrics, a global provider of precision rotary tooling and accessories. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. While under the ownership of Morgenthaler Private Equity, the company implemented many growth and operational improvement initiatives, including investing in flexible die technology, expanding RotoMetrics’ global manufacturing presence in Europe and Asia, re-aligning the global organizational structure, and adding to the strength of the management team.

RotoMetrics was formed in 1991 by the merger of two closely held companies: Roto-Die and Micrometrics. Before the merger, both corporations manufactured rotary tooling and operated under the name The RotoMetrics Group for eight years. After the merger, the company was led by Melvin Stanley, the former owner of Micrometrics. The sale to Morgenthaler Partners came in early 2008. By this time RotoMetrics had become the largest manufacturer of narrow web cutting dies, operating worldwide with several plants in the United States, as well as in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, and the United Kingdom.
