Corrective statement

In issue 1 2016 of NarrowWebTech we published the article “Label industry marks its presence at the recent Pamex 2015 event” (page 36-38). On page 38 it claims, that “the use of UV lamps with mercury in Europe is banned”.

Mark Loveridge, Commercial Director for Alpha-Cure Ltd. responded to us stating that ”this simply isn’t true and is very damaging to those that trade in that market”.

Here you may read his full corrected  statement: “Mr Vinay Kaushal of Provin Technos was incorrect in his statement that ‘UV mercury lamps in Europe are banned’. This just isn’t true. Lamps are banned for street lighting and similar, but are still very much legal and the most suitable technology for curing processes in print. There is no indication whatsoever that they will be banned in the future as there is no viable alternative to replace them.”

We apologize for this incident but have to point out, that according to our imprint, that “opinions expressed in bylined articles are not necessarily those of the publishers”.
