Domino: Water-based black ink launched at Ipex

Domino K600i with AQ90BK water based black ink

UK Domino has launched a new ink at Ipex 2014, suitable for specific use with its K600i single colour high resolution digital ink jet press. The AQ90BK is a black aqueous ink which Domino claims is a cost-effective option compared with UV-curable ink solutions. This new ink is for use on porous substrates commonly used in transactional, book, newspaper, mailing, ticket and form applications.

According to the company, the environmentally-friendly ink delivers good in-printer performance thanks to a combination of low viscosity and low evaporation rates. It also allows for decap times of up to one hour at 23° Celsius.

AQ90BK is for variable data printing (VDP) including barcodes, 2D codes such as data matrix and QR codes, graphics, addresses and transactional data. The K600i monochrome printer is designed to integrate VDP within existing sheet and web-fed presses and finishing lines, or can be delivered as a standalone digital press.
