UPM Raflatac – Launch of clear thin PET label material

UPM Raflatac launched thin, clear PET label materials with “no-label-look”

FINLAND • The manufacturer of self-adhesive labels introduced its Vanish labels in Europe. UPM Raflatac demonstrated the application of the thin, clear PET label at recent Labelexpo Europe. For food labelling on rigid plastic and glass packaging, Vanish labels allow consumers a view of the product together with the brand. According to the company, the thin label faces use less raw material, making them a more economical and sustainable choice compared to other clear film solutions.

For beverage labelling Vanish can replace screen printing on bottles. Self-adhesive printing technology enables numerous brand differentiation opportunities with effects including fluctuating opacity, raised textures, scents, and glow-in-the-dark or UV fluorescent print. For personal care labelling these films have the ‘no-label look’. With labelstock combinations incorporating smooth PET liners for a clear adhesive wet-out, customers can use the effect of their visuals on rigid containers. According to UPM Raflatac, cut corners are no longer visible and circular or irregular patterns are possible.
